You’ll be reporting directly to the CTO / Head of Engineering at Parallel.

Location: Helsinki or remote
This role will be based in our HQ in Helsinki, Finland. While we are remote-friendly, being local to the area is preferred.

Role Overview:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the charge in developing and enhancing our advanced web applications and LLM-driven solutions. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our technology stack and guiding junior engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and scalable software.

Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and implement complex web applications using LLMs and functional programming languages.

• Lead and mentor a team of junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

• Conduct thorough code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.

• Analyze and optimize system performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.

• Stay abreast of the latest technological advancements and integrate new tools and techniques into our projects.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Extensive experience with LLMs and their practical applications.

• Proficiency in functional programming languages (e.g., Elixir).

• Strong background in web development, including modern frameworks and libraries.

• Proven track record of leading and mentoring engineering teams.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with microservices architecture and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Contributions to the tech community through open-source projects, blogs, or speaking engagements.
