You’ll be reporting directly to the CTO / Head of Engineering at Parallel.

Location: Helsinki or remote

This role will be based in our HQ in Helsinki, Finland. While we are remote-friendly, being local to the area is preferred.

Role Overview:

As a Junior Software Engineer, you will dive into the world of LLMs and web programming, contributing to our innovative projects from day one. You will work alongside seasoned professionals, gaining invaluable experience and building your skills in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing, testing, and deploying web applications utilizing LLMs.
• Collaborate with other engineers and product to design and implement new features and improvements.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to a positive and constructive feedback culture.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to bring fresh ideas to the team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of LLMs and their applications.
• Interest in functional programming (e.g. Elixir).
• Good understanding of Python programming language
• Familiarity with web development technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for learning and growth.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Contributions to open-source projects or personal coding projects.
• Knowledge of software development best practices and methodologies.
